July 23, 2020: Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) makes its closest approach to Earth at the northwest sky over the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio, Greece passing at a distance of 103 million kilometres (64 million miles) from our planet, or about 400 times further away than the moon shining between the Temple’s lights.
A single 10-second exposure at 35mm, f/2.8, 320iso captured on the Canon 5D Mark IV and Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II Lens.
NEOWISE is a retrograde comet with a near-parabolic orbit discovered on March 27, 2020 by the NEOWISE space telescope.
