Take a Workshop to improve your photography skills and learn Astrophotography with the guidance of Alexandros Maragos

The Astrophotography workshops will be held at Milos island, Greece in August and September 2020. They are for beginners, amateur photographers of all levels and Professionals interested in learning Astrophotography. Each workshop is unique and customised. There is no script and no procedure to follow. There’ll be coffee and snack breaks – consider the workshop a 3-day trip to Milos island where you’ll learn astrophotography and discuss photography in a relaxed and friendly way. Photography should be an enjoyable experience. These workshops feature a positive and interactive learning environment.

Why these dates?
The Astrophotography Workshops are planned based on the phase of the moon.
Since we will emphasize on the Milky Way Galaxy, complete darkness is needed.
All workshops are scheduled during New Moon (There will be no Moon.)

Participants should be in good health.
Activities may include walking, driving in bumpy roads or easy hikes.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • Meals: Dinner the 1st day (arrival). Breakfast, lunch, dinner and nighttime packed meals on days 2 and 3; Breakfast on day 4 (last day / departure day)

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED

  • Airfare/Ferry to and from Milos Island, Greece

  • Insurance. It is MANDATORY to insure yourself against physical injury. Alexandros Maragos will not be responsible in case of any personal injuries or damage to photographic gear as a result of an accident during the workshop. A good travel insurance can make a big difference should something happen, and ensure a safe return home.

  • Alcoholic beverages


ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • The Astrophotography Workshop require that you have a digital camera (full-frame is preferred) which allows for manual settings, as well as a tripod, an Intervalometer, at least 4 fully charged camera batteries and 32GBs of memory card storage. The camera should support interchangeable lenses (wide-angle 14-24mm at f/2.8 or faster is preferred). If you don’t have the necessary equipment, a digital camera with lenses, tripod, Intervalometer, batteries and memory card can be provided to you upon request at additional cost.

  • Laptop (Optional). If you would like to follow along or take notes during the RAW Photography processing sessions, then you may want to have a laptop with you running Adobe Camera RAW and Photoshop software.


PAYMENT PROCEDURE:

  • Full Payment or €700 deposit is required to reserve your spot with the balance due 10 days prior to the day of the workshop

  • Payments can be made using a credit card or via Direct Bank Transfer


CANCELLATIONS & REFUND POLICY:

Full Payment: If you cancel up to 7 days prior to the workshop, you will receive a full refund minus a €120 service fee & administrative costs. No refund will be issued if you cancel less than 7 days prior to the workshop.

Deposit: If you cancel up to 14 days prior to the workshop, you will receive a full deposit refund minus a €120 service fee & administrative costs. No deposit refund will be issued if you cancel less than 14 days prior to the workshop.

If your workshop is cancelled for any reason, your entire registration fee will be transferred to another workshop of your choosing or you may request a full refund.
