"Supermoon over the Acropolis" receives Honorable Mention Award at The International Earth & Sky Photo Contest 2017 - TWAN
My image (05:23) of the biggest and brightest Supermoon of the century rising over the Parthenon at the Acropolis of Athens, Greece, captured on Nov 14, 2016, has received an Honorable Mention Award at the International Earth & Sky Photo Contest 2017 by The World at Night (TWAN).
A stunning collection of nightscape photos are selected as the winners and honorable mention photos of the 8th International Earth & Sky Photo Contest. Organized since 2009 by The World at Night (TWAN), the contest is a collaboration of TWAN, the Global Astronomy Month and the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO), a program of Astronomers Without Borders. The contest public message is to preserve last remaining natural night environments and night skies in the world, supporting efforts by the International Dark Sky Association (IDA) and other organizations in the field.
